About Me

I’m a postdoc in the Environmental Fluid Dynamics Lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Scripps Institute of Oceanography at University of California San Diego. I’m working on hydrodynamics of Kelp farming and Coral reefs using field observation data. I did my PhD from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign researching the hydrodynamics and scalar transport in aquatic vegetation canopies. I used experimental (PIV, ADV) and numerical techniques (LES) to assess the role of aquatic vegetation generated turbulence on sediment and dissolved oxygen dynamics. I was a member of Prof. Rafael Tinoco’s Ecohydraulics and Ecomorphodynamics group in the Civil Engineering department at UIUC.

I’m currently looking for faculty positions involving experimental and/or numerical investigation of turbulence and transition in geophysical flows, stratified flows, and ecohydraulics. Particularly, I’m interested in the transport of particles in stratified turbulent flows and transitional flows. Curriculum vitae (CV) [Updated: December 2024]. Here’s a brief summary of my research experience.
